Volunteer Training Corps Badge 1914

This example at first glance looks like a normal badge with the Union Rose and Coronet broken off.  On careful examination the Rose and Coronet have been carefully cut away.

It is understood that cut down badges, were used by some members of the Volunteer Training Corps at the start of WW1 and until VDC badges were provided.
