Sheffield Chief Constable’s Civilian Corps Badge 1914 to 1915.

This is a lapel badge of the Sheffield Chief Constable’s Civilian Corps (CCCC). It was worn in civilian clothing as the Corps at this time had not yet been issued uniforms. This badge is sometimes incorrectly described as the Sheffield Chief Constable’s Combatant Corps.

The centre of the badge is in gilt and is the Arms of the Corporation of Sheffield. This is surrounded by a blue enamelled circlet with the word ‘SHEFFIELD’ and the letters ‘CCCC’.

The rear of the badge is stamped JR Gaunt & Son London.
