2nd Volunteer Battalion Officers Service Dress Badge 1902 to 1908

This badge is in cast bronze and is an Officer Service Dress (OSD) badge.

The Tiger is set within a scroll and laurel wreath with the words ‘York and Lancaster’ and the words ‘2nd Vol Battn’ are cast as an integral part of the badge below the Tiger. The badge is maker marked J&Co.

When khaki service dress was introduced into the British army in 1902, OSD badges were also introduced which in turn led to this short lived and uncommon badge.
