2nd Volunteer Battalion Badge 1897 to 1908-1st pattern

This is the first pattern Tiger and Rose badge to this battalion and being a volunteer badge, it is made of white metal with The Tiger set within a scroll and laurel wreath with the words ‘York and Lancaster’.

The Coronet and rose are also in white metal but with a gilding metal centre to the rose. The round sweat hole behind the Rose is indicative of one of the earliest manufactured Tiger and Rose badges.

This badge is on loops, no examples are known to exist with sliders.
