Type 28 Tiger and Rose Badge (with slider).
This badge has a series of sweat holes which would suggest a particular makers variation (although the maker is not known). There is 1 oblong sweat hole behind the Coronet and a large round sweat hole to the rear of the Rose with 1 large hole to the rear of the rose.
A notable feature of this manufacturer is that the front of the white metal Rose ‘overlay’ is fixed away from the gilding metal backing as can be seen from the picture of the reverse of the badge.
This badge is on a slider or shank which would date it from 1903 onwards. The same (but earlier) version on loops can be seen at Type 2.
