Other Ranks Badge 1897 to 1903

Type 1 Tiger and Rose Badge.

This is the most familiar pattern of York & Lancaster badge that is to be found. This example is on loops which dates it to between 1897 and 1903 when ‘vertical shanks’ (more commonly known as sliders) became the normal method of fixing badges to headdress.

The round sweat hole behind the Rose is indicative of one of the earliest manufactured Tiger and Rose badges.
