Officers Service Dress Badge with Slider 1906 to 1918

Type 7 Officers Badge.

This example of the Tiger and Rose badge is coloured bronze and appears to be a normal Other Ranks badge that has been adapted to be used as an officers badge. Usually, OSD badges were made of cast bronze with blades to fix the badge to the cap. This badge is made of stamped metal with a slider and along with the sweat holes to the rear of the badge, indicate that this was originally an Other Ranks badge that has been coloured bronze.

It has been suggested that this could have belonged to a Commissioned OR who has converted his badge to an Officers pattern. This badge can be dated by the length of the slider (shorter version 1906) and this particular pattern of badge with sweat holes which was not made after 1918.
