84th of Foot Officer's 1857 Pattern Forage Cap

84th of Foot 1857 pattern Officer’s Forage Cap. The cap has a blue cloth body with a black acorn lace welt. The embroidered badge displays the Union Rose in gold lace with dark red central panels and green silk outer petals with the number 84 below in gold lace. 

The lining is quilted red silk with a leather sweatband with the makers mark T.R. Marshall of St James's Street, London. This is a rare cap.
