
This is an officer’s two part badge in silver lace embroidery. Firstly, a multi layered rose with a shaped red cloth backing with a '19' in the centre. Secondly, a embroidered separate small strung bugle horn.
The 19th Yorkshire West Riding Volunteer Corps was formed in 1859 in Rotherham. They were grouped into the 4th Administrative Battalion, Yorkshire West Riding Volunteer Corps and in 1880 consolidated as the 8th West Riding Rifle Volunteer Corps (8th YWRRVC). In 1883, the 8th YWRRVC became the 2nd Volunteer Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment.
